I guess I feel it's sort of "my" domain and get very self-critical and competitive if my partner does the same thing. The portraits I've done of paid models or people I don't know well, even though the pieces might be technically good, I don't really feel anything when I look at them.
If I have a UNIX problem, I can explain exactly what it is and he can teach me how to fix it. He does love to watch me paint now and then, but totally respects my space and rarely says anything when he does so.
I've caught a little smile on his face now and then, tho only problem we ever had was when we ran a business together -- IEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!

I'd love it if my husband had some kind of artistic interest..fishing considered artistic?That can be building on your common interests as well as building on your individuality, complimented by each other.
